The ski bus to the Möslbahn cable car, which opened in 2018, leaves from in front of Hotel Gletscherblick and will take you straight to the station. It couldn't be any more convenient than this. Feel the crunching snow on extended mountain tours and be enchanted by the white winter wonderland in beautiful Zillertal. Even more comfort for all guests with the new Möslbahn cable car, with its innovative 10-gondola single-cable lift - the latest generation D-Line from Doppelmayr.

 

With 57 state-of-the-art lifts and the best  action parks, our skiing area is one of the most varied in Zillertal. The ski bus departs regularly from right in front of our hotel and takes you to the lift without waiting time.

Skiing & Snowboarding in the the skiing area of Mayrhofner Bergbahnen

Skiers have been raving about the ultra-modern Möslbahn since it started running from Hochschwendberg/Hippach to the skiing area of Mayrhofner Bergbahnen. The 10 gondola single-cable lift takes you comfortably up to the Horberg and into the Penken/Ahorn/Rastkogel/Eggalm skiing area. There you will find a total of 159 kilometres of slopes and 57 lifts. The ski bus goes directly from Hotel Gletscherblick to the valley station of the Möslbahn cable car, taking you to the steepest slope in Austria. The skiing area covered by Mayrhofner Bergbahnen is one of the most varied in Zillertal and guarantees fun in the snow and on the slopes thanks to the largest snowmaking system in the valley.

Tobogganing: winter fun for the whole family

Tobogganing is one of the most popular winter pastimes in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region for people of all ages! Discover just how fantastic tobogganing is in Zillertal and try out the toboggan run at Tristenbachalm. You start at an altitude of 1,000 metres. At breakneck speed, you'll travel the 2 kilometres to Ginzling on a varied route with sharp bends, easy jumps and tranquil sections. The natural toboggan run on Hainzenberg offers ultimate tobogganing fun. At 7 kilometres, it is the longest illuminated toboggan run in Zillertal. High-quality Kathrein toboggans are available to hire from the Rodelcenter; and the Gerlossteinbahn cable car takes you comfortably up the mountain.

Ski Touring

Away from the slopes, well-prepared winter hiking trails take you through the wonderful landscape of the Upper Zillertal. Set your own pace and enjoy views of the majestic mountains and the glistening snow in sunshine. Hike through snow-covered forests, over alpine pastures and slopes. Popular hikes in winter lead to the Brindling-Alm, Rastkogel Hütte or to Schiestl's Sunnalm. We can give you some tips about the best routes; and, for less experienced ski tourers, provide recommendations about guided mountain tours with a professional guide and professional equipment.

Snowshoe Hiking: The new Trend

Experience the silence of nature, breathe in the clear mountain air and simply take in the beauty of the landscape - that's snowshoe hiking in Zillertal. It doesn't always have to be the hustle and bustle of the slopes: leisurely snowshoe hikes require little previous knowledge or experience. You can take part in guided tours of varying levels of difficulty, or explore the winter landscape on your own. Either way, it is pure romance in the snow!
